Privacy Policy

In short: okrly collects nothing. Your objectives, key results, and reviews stay on your Mac, and we never have access to them.
Data controller
AI4Docs, a French SAS with a share capital of €2,000, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France, 941 484 537 R.C.S. Paris. Contact: hello@aifordocs.fr.
The okrly app
- No account. The app asks for no name, no email, no sign-up.
- No network access. The app runs in the macOS sandbox without the network permission: it is technically unable to send anything, to us or to anyone else.
- Data stored on your Mac. Your vision, areas, objectives, key results, and reviews are saved in the app’s folder on your Mac. Your settings are kept in the app’s preferences, in the same folder. The widget reads a summary that the app writes in a folder they share on the same Mac: your vision’s title, the current cycle, and your objectives and key results with their progress.
- Backups. You decide when to export a backup (Settings › Data › Backup › “Export Backup…”) and where it goes. Before a restore, Erase Everything, or a change to the examples, okrly also keeps a safety copy in its own folder on your Mac; the last five are kept, and Settings › Data › Backup › “Show Safety Copies” shows them in the Finder. Backups and safety copies are plain, unencrypted files: keep yours somewhere safe.
- Images. An image of your footprint (“Share…” on the Vision page) is saved only when you ask, where you choose; its titles can be anonymized.
- Notifications. The review reminder is a local notification, scheduled on your Mac, and only if you turn it on.
- Links and email. “okrly Support” and “Privacy Policy” (in the Help menu, and in Settings › About) open this website in your browser, and “This website” below then applies. “Email Support…” opens a draft in your mail app, addressed to us, whose subject gives the okrly and macOS versions. Nothing leaves until you send it.
- No usage tracking. No analytics, no ads, no tracking, no crash reporting of our own.
To delete your data: Settings › Data › Erase › “Erase Everything…”, then delete the safety copies (“Show Safety Copies” opens their folder). Moving the app to the Trash leaves its data folders on your Mac. To remove everything okrly stored, also delete app.okrly.OKRly and app.okrly.OKRly.widgets in ~/Library/Containers (in the Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder…, or press ⇧⌘G, and enter ~/Library/Containers; the Finder may show them under the app’s name), and the folder ending in group.app.okrly in ~/Library/Group Containers. Backups you exported stay where you put them. Apart from any emails you sent us, nothing remains anywhere else: the app never sends anything off your Mac.
If you turned on “Share with app developers” in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics. That sharing depends on your setting with Apple, not on okrly, and never includes your objectives.
Buying on the Mac App Store
You buy from Apple. We receive neither your name, nor your email, nor your payment details: Apple only gives us aggregated sales figures, per country and per day. How Apple handles your data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
This website
- No cookies, no trackers, no analytics, no forms, which is why there’s no consent banner.
- Fonts and images are served by the site itself; nothing is loaded from a third-party service.
- Our host, Vercel Inc. (United States), processes the technical data needed to deliver and secure the site on our behalf (IP address, date, requested page, and browser), based on our legitimate interest. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used for any profiling. Transfers outside the European Union rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR (the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
When you write to us
If you contact support, we process your email address and the content of your message, including the version numbers in the draft’s subject line, for the sole purpose of answering you (legitimate interest in answering requests). These exchanges are kept for at most three years after the last contact, then deleted. They are never sold, shared, or used for marketing. Only send a backup file if we ask for it to solve a problem: it is deleted once the request is handled.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and French data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to the processing of, and port the data concerning you, wherever you live. You may also give instructions on what happens to your data after your death. In practice, the only data we hold is your emails; the site’s technical logs are kept on our behalf by our host (see “This website”). To exercise your rights: hello@aifordocs.fr. We answer within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, cnil.fr, or with the data protection authority where you live.
